The purpose of this policy is to manage the posting of material throughout the School of Business, to ensure the appropriate use of space, prevent future defacing of School of Business property, and reduce resources used to repair and/or replace School of Business property. This policy is not meant to supersede existing posting policies of the University.
Storrs Campus
Where Items Can Be Posted
- Prior permission must be granted by the School of Business Dean’s Office in order to post.
- School of Business student organizations may use the bulletin boards located on the first floor outside of the lounge in the north atrium and on the second floor by south atrium.
Where Items Cannot Be Posted
- Under no circumstances may items be posted on School of Business signs, lampposts, trees, sidewalks, windows, walls, floor, ceiling, doors, bathroom, or any location where the posting may cause damage to property or pose a potential fire hazard.
- Absolutely no tape or other method of permanent or semi-permanent adhesion that may cause damage to School of Business property may be used.
- Chalking is not permitted in any areas inaccessible to rain, or any vertical surface.

Removal of Posted Items
Individuals and groups posting items promoting events shall remove them within 24 hours of the completion of the event in order to allow new postings to be placed and to avoid unnecessary visual clutter.
Violations and Enforcement
Individuals, departments, student organizations and off-campus businesses or groups that violate the above policy will be asked to remove postings immediately and may be billed for any damage to property that occurs as a result of improper posting and may be held liable for violating the University of Connecticut Responsibilities of Community Life: The Student Code.

Hartford Campus (GBLC)
Where Items Can Be Posted
- Bulletin boards located on the 5th and 6th floors.
- Please post in designated area on the boards.
Who Can Post
- UConn School of Business programs, departments, offices
- UConn School of Business student organizations/clubs. For student associations wishing to post event or meeting information on the bulletin boards, please email a flyer to GBLCStudentTasks@uconn.edu
- External parties are not permitted to promote events, initiatives, special offers, or otherwise, unless there is explicit benefit to the campus and/or the University. These inquiries are handled on a case by case. Please send requests to GBLCStudentTasks@uconn.edu

Stamford Campus
- All UConn units, entities, and UConn-sponsored and co-sponsored events, as related to University students, faculty, and staff, can be promoted with appropriate flyers and signage. If it’s a UConn unit from off-campus, seek pre-approval through the director’s office, or Kathy Harrison in events.
- External parties are not permitted to promote events, initiatives, special offers, or otherwise, unless there is explicit benefit to the campus and/or the University. These inquiries are handled case by case
 
Waterbury Campus
- Fliers can only be posted on bulletin boards (not on walls, for example). All fliers must be approved before posting and Jim Long, our Student Activities Coordinator, is the one who approves the postings.
- There are also some bulletin boards where postings are not allowed (first floor board next to Welcome Center is reserved for schedule posting and cancellation postings only) and some boards are owned by specific offices or programs (like Career Development and some academic programs), but those should be clearly marked.
